VisitBritain

I’ve recently been catching an advert on TV for Expedia which is encouraging people to visit Britain.  The advert itself is fairly forgettable, other than the fact that it doesn’t just focus on London but makes a competition about which area has the best the UK has to offer:  London, The Highlands, Manchester, Cornwall, or Wales.  An odd choice of destinations – for example, I don’t know why Manchester is a particularly big must-see hotspot for American tourists.  Whatever…  Advertising people – just stick to the classic tourist sights.  Nobody wants to see a load of American tourists in Cornwall.  Mind you, with the exchange rate the way it’s going at the moment (down to about 1.25 dollars to 1 pound currently) you can expect an uptick in the number of American tourists.
