England 2 - 1 Wales

Well, was that worth getting up early for the 6am start time?  Judging by the first half performance, absolutely not.  But finally, a flood of relief with the equalizer and joy with the late winner.  The win is what really counts and can’t be too unhappy with 3 points and top of the group, so there is that – though still far from convinced by England and the team selection, tactics and performance.  The first half especially, they were listless, lacking in creativity, energy and drive.  We need to show some serious improvement if we are going to progress far in the tournament – and I just can’t see that happening.  Perhaps with a bit less pressure in the last game now, we can let the shackles off and play with a bit more freedom and intensity.  And please, for the love of god, don’t start with the same 11 again in the next game.
