Another sign that we are getting closer to the singularity - the day when artificial intelligence takes over the world. I've been watching some of the Australian Open, and I find it very disconcerting that top level tennis matches are being played without any line judges. Instead, you get these weird discombobulated computer-generated voices saying "fault" or "out". A bit like the introduction of VAR in football, you feel it takes away from some of the humanity of the sport. I much preferred it when players were arguing calls and getting in a tizzy with the umpire or line judge. Now that the subjectivity has gone (assuming the computer is making the right calls!), tennis is slightly less fun to watch. That is unless Nick Kyrgios is playing, who can and will take issue with anything.
