No fireworks this evening

Yep, it was quiet outside this evening as the Seahawks lost their wild card game.  I have mixed feelings about this.  In some ways it's nice to see the local team do well, but on the other hand the number of obnoxious Seahawks fans and pandering local coverage about the team means that I find it hilarious that they lost.  Especially as they were the favorites.  I didn't watch much of the game - but by all accounts it seemed like they deserved to lose.  So that's the end of another underachieving season - seems like a long time ago since they won it all.  I don't really have any thoughts, or really care, about who is going to win the Superbowl this season.  However, I did find it interesting that although there were no fans at the Seattle game (which was in Seattle) there were fans at the Buffalo Bills game.  Makes you wonder how long it's going to be until you start to see fully attended sporting events again.  Without fans, sports have definitely been lacking something.

  1. The Seahawks got exactly what was coming to them - they're not a 11-5 team - particularly earier in the season win after win occured because the opposition fucked up their chance to win it.

    That said:

    1. I did not think we'd lose to the Rams, I but I thought we'd have little / no chance against the Saints in New Orleans.

    2. I was gutted

    3. Agree with you about the the fairness of "some fans" versus "no fans". Having 5,000 @ Luman field might have had a significant influence on the result.

Conversely given the 27-24 final score, would the Bills have got through without 5,000 fans??

That said I have a soft spot for the Bills & hope they at least win their next home game (winning a champs game in KC is a big ask).

For the NFC I'd like to see Brady make it (he won't but I'd like to see it). I always assumed Belichick was the maestro (a la Alex Ferguson) & Brady was the "slightly better than average" lucky recipient. Amused to see my assumptions being proved wrong & TB doing it for the "forty-somethings"
