Information Dissemination

At a recent department meeting, the number of times where one of the presenters said something like “You should know this by now …” but which I did not know was alarmingly high.  What am I missing?  Have I missed or ignored e-mails, am I not on the correct e-mail distribution list, have I not completed training that I should have by now (and might not even be aware of), is my manager not sharing or passing on information (likely), is the dissemination and sharing of updates and initiatives absolutely appalling in our department (absolutely)?  The joys of working for a bigger company where so much stuff that directly impacts you is totally out of your control and often you are not aware of.
