Mima Mounds

Another nice day, another walk.  This time I went for a bit of a drive - to a place called Mima Mounds about 70 miles south of Seattle.  It's an interesting geographical abnormality in the Pacific NW - a prairie-type landscape consisting of these weird naturally-formed mounds - I'm not sure that photos will do it justice.  It was a nice walk amongst the mounds - not too far and very flat.  It wasn't quite blanketed with wildflowers like I optimistically hoped, but there were some wildflowers and lots of birdsong - all the better because I got there early (8 am!) and didn't see anyone else until I was leaving.
