Up in the Air

Whilst gazing out of the window on my flight down to San Francisco this afternoon, I couldn't help but be in awe at the fact that here I was sitting in a metal cylinder flying thousands of feet above the ground getting me to a destination a long way away in a really short amount of time.  As much as I detest humanity, flight is a stunning human achievement that we just take for granted now.  And nobody was in the middle seat next to me, so I can't tell you how much better this made my trip (and thank god, because the woman on the aisle seat was so big she had to get an extra belt)!

The first of what I suspect will be many shots of the Golden Gate Bridge this weekend!
