I am extremely worried about Palace's form. That's now 6 league games without a win - and we are definitely being pulled into a relegation scrap, with no real teams tailing off (not even Norwich!). The next 2 league games are crucial - Watford and Burnley, 2 teams below us and 2 teams currently in the relegation spots. We need to win at least one of these, preferably both. Draws won't do - which is all we seem to be managing at the moment against teams we should be beating (see our recent games against Norwich, Brentford, Brighton). In fact the only games we have won in 2022 are in the FA Cup. Every year it always seems like there is one team who have an FA Cup run to the serious detriment of their league form. And I'm kind of worried it is going to be us this year - especially with another favorable draw against a lower league opposition. Which is why I kind of secretly hope that Stoke beat us.

ReplyDeletedisagree with the 2nd - a FA Cup run can also be a panacea for confidence. Lose sto Stoke & confidence erodes further.
BUT by the time we play Stoke, we'll have played Burnley & Watford anyway & I hope we are in a better place - 4pts would be acceptable.
