I didn't go to Crater Lake, Oregon last year even though I wanted to - mainly because it was afflicted by smoke from local wildfires when I wanted to go. So I'd like to try again this year - maybe in September around Labor Day, in order to achieve my aim of going to a National Park that I haven't been to before each year. But then I decided to check out the webcam from there today:
This doesn't bode well for the rest of the year - that is definitely wildfire smoke. Again. I think also Yellowstone is currently at risk of being affected by wildfires. This could be a bad summer for it - especially if the weather continues to be as hot and and dry as it has been the last month.
