This summer, there seems to have been a distinct increase in the number of cold callers coming round to my house to sell their services e.g. yardwork, pest control or whatever. And I've been getting increasingly brusque with them - to the point now that as soon as I answer the door and clock who they are, I tell them I'm not interested and close the door on them before they can even say anything. I have zero interest on hearing even a second of their sales pitch. It's nothing personal. But because I'm so far back from the road, for them to come all the way up my driveway feels like a massive invasion of my privacy. Perhaps there has always been this number of callers before, but I'm encountering them more now because I'm working from home. Either way, I don't care for it and perhaps I need to invest in a doorbell camera or something so that I know when not to answer the door.
