Murder Capital

Is Oxford the most dangerous “real” city in the UK to live in?  Between Morse, Lewis and Endeavour (which is currently showing here in the Downton Abbey Sunday viewing slot), it appears to have an ungodly amount of crime and murder.  Are there any rivals to Oxford?  There are a lot of fictional places that I wouldn’t want to live in that have had more than their fair share of tragedy and violence (Midsomer, Hollyoaks, Walford!), but I’m not sure of any “real” worse cities than Oxford.  A quick online search reveals that Cabot Cove in New England is the most dangerous place on Earth – so stay well clear of there and Jessica Fletcher (she must have made a fortune from all the murders she wrote about, which always seemed suspicious to me - there is no smoke without fire…)
