Lottery

Sadly, the fact that I'm writing this blog and haven't quit my job meant that I didn't win the 750 million dollar Powerball jackpot yesterday.  The odds of winning were 1 in 292201338, so I didn't really fancy my chances.  With these odds it's no wonder these jackpots grow to enormous amounts - I think the last time I bought a ticket the jackpot was 1.5 billion dollars...  The fact that I'm even buying a lottery ticket brings shame to me as a qualified statistician, but hey we can all dream.
