Finally, it seems America has started to embrace roundabouts. I've noticed that a few 4-way junctions around the neighborhood have been converted into roundabouts recently. Obviously we don't have them here on anywhere near the same scale that you do in the UK, but this a welcome and long overdue development. With one major drawback. And that is that Americans don't know how to drive round roundabouts. From the lack of signalling - a pet peeve of mine in American drivers - to not knowing who has the right of way, American driving habits causes all the efficiencies of having a roundabout in the first place to be lost. Which is maybe why America shouldn't have them. And maybe the priority should be teaching Americans to drive better.
