Happy 50th anniversary to Jaws today. NBC were airing a special screening of Jaws tonight, including an introduction by Steven Spielberg, but I didn't catch it. It is one of those films that I appreciate has reached iconic status, but not a film that I would consider a masterpiece. But it's been a very long time since I watched it, so maybe I need to reconsider. There are certainly no shortage of merchandise and collectibles you can buy to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Of course I am tempted, but I will resist - though I like the idea of owning an Amity Island t-shirt.
