I didn't know this, but I only found out recently that many Americans think Seattle is a boring city. I've been dwelling on this, and I can sort of understand it. The weather is not great, the city architecture is not great, it doesn't have the world-class attractions of contemporary American cities like San Francisco, Chicago, Boston or New York, and it simply isn't a particularly exciting city. Seattle may have a great natural setting, but apparently the city itself stinks. So why am I still here? It's a question I've been asking myself a lot recently. Especially now that I'm a "remote worker", I'm not tied to a specific location. So I could move away from the Pacific NW and it's horribly expensive cost of living. But a move would take a lot of time, effort and inconvenience. And I don't have a clue where I would want to move to. So I don't see it happening any time soon - at least not until my circumstances change again.
