World Cup Day 3

Just one opinion to share - I HATE VAR.  Hate it.  Hate it.  Hate it.  It stops the flow of the game, it's unnecessary and it's distracting.  Everyone hates players waving imaginary yellow cards at the referee, and now they can start waving the imaginary video replay sign.  And some of the decisions that have been reviewed are so tight and so subjective, that there doesn't seem any point to suddenly stopping play 5 minutes later so that they can review some different camera angles before the referee feels obligated to award the penalty.  And where does it stop?  There is so much grabbing and holding at corners, shouldn't they be reviewed every time in case any foul play occurs?  If you have competent referees, which you should do at the World Cup, then trust them to make the right decisions and you don't need video replay.  Now watch England be on the receiving end of some bad decisions from some dodgy Russian-influenced video referee.
