American Sports

I couldn't watch the Golden State Warriors win another NBA finals today - with a comprehensive sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers - they've won 3 out of the last 4, and will probably dominate for many more years to come.  They are the Manchester United of basketball - people either love them or hate them.  I hate them.  Apparently so does Trump, since he has already said that the winner is not going to visit the White House per tradition (again) - on top of disinviting the Philadelphia Eagles and his comments on standing for the national anthem, he clearly has a beef against colored athletes. In other sports news, the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup yesterday.  Nothing against the Capitals - congratulations for their first ever win.  But I'd much rather their opponents the Las Vegas Golden Knights had won - who were very much the Leicester City of NHL, with 500-1 odds at the start of the season and with a fairy tale journey in their first ever season of existence to the finals.  The World Cup couldn't have come at a better time, as we now in the dark vacuum of American sports season when only the tedium of baseball is on.
