Valentine's Day

My least favorite day of the year – you shouldn’t need to set aside a single day of the year to tell/show someone you love them.  But I doubt my expectations of a modern, loving, healthy relationship are realistic.  All I know is that today is a shallow, poor excuse for commercial exploitation.  There certainly wasn’t much love on display in the commute this morning and this evening.  Sadly, even work got in on Valentine’s with some love-themed food and drink today (think lots of chocolates, cupcakes, etc.).  I can tolerate being single, but I don’t like having my face rubbed in it – they could at least have the decency to also celebrate Singles Awareness Day tomorrow.
