The good news - I've got myself a ticket for the Crystal Palace game. I happened to go on the ticket site late last night, and there was a single seat for sale that wasn't in the front row and wasn't in the corner - so I went for it. So it's officially going to be quite a sports heavy trip back to the UK - since I'm going to both a rugby match and a football match.
The bad news - it doesn't appear that I was selected for a chance to get World Cup tickets in the presale draw. I think I would have been notified by now, but I haven't received anything. Yet. Not really a surprise when they said about 4.5 million people entered the draw. So I guess I'll try again at the next opportunity - I think there is another random selection draw before the end of the year. Much as feared, I think it's going to be tough to get World Cup tickets. And I'm not going to shell out a fortune for a ticket on a resale site without knowing who is playing.
