I took a walk around Greenwich yesterday, one of my favourite parts of London. There is a reason why this is a World Heritage Site. It features one of the best views of London, from up near the Royal Observatory, that even the many tourists can't detract from. Now I didn't exactly make the most of this excursion - I could easily have spent a lot more time (and money) at places like Cutty Sark, the Fan Museum, the National Maritime Museum or the Royal Observatory - but the walk itself was more than enough. Something that came as a surprise to me - apart from being reminded that London is now home to wild parakeets which is just crazy - was the number of people, particularly of Asian descent, foraging for chestnuts in Greenwich Park. I didn't even know that was a thing.
