I bought a new pair of hiking boots over the weekend - my previous ones were running out of tread, and indeed I left that pair back in the UK. But then I remembered that we have an annual $1000 wellbeing allowance at work, which I haven't used much of. And since hiking boots can be considered "exercise equipment", I have requested reimbursement of the cost of these new hiking boots. Nice. Indeed, since I had over $500 available to spend I just ordered myself some more hiking shoes, which I will also get reimbursed for. So that's two free pairs of shoes. Hopefully, Sweet. And that still leaves me some leftover money that I can spend on something stupid that I will never use - like dumbbells or something.
