Early Morning Meetings

Another early meeting this morning - this one starting at 8 am.  Absolutely ridiculous.  I'm of the strong opinion that we shouldn't kowtow to Indian contractors.  We are their customer, so they should accommodate us rather than the other way around.  When you have a meeting that early, it really puts you out of sync for the rest of the day.  Especially meetings that are generally a complete waste of time, and could easily be replaced by an e-mail.  I am no fan of meetings at the best of times, and I hate the fact that there are a number of meetings that we are mandated to attend - meetings that I rarely contribute to.  It feels like an absolute eternity since I worked on projects where I attended in person meetings, even when the Seattle office was still open.  And I kind of miss those meetings, where you get to know the other team members a bit better and are more inclined to contribute to discussions.  Remote meetings are just so impersonal and it's so easy just to switch off.  Especially at 8 am.
