Mercifully I don't have any plans to travel within the US anytime soon. With the government shutdown causing thousands of flight cancellations, it seems like domestic travel here is already turning into a nightmare. And with Thanksgiving coming up and even more people travelling, it's only going to get worse. SeaTac is one of the targeted airports where they are ramping up to 10% of flights being cancelled. Yikes. Unsurprisingly, rental car companies are reporting a sharp increase in reservations. So it's not just air travel that is going to be horrible, but also road travel. I don't have any plans for Thanksgiving - normally the weather is so bad at this time of year that it's not worth trying to plan anything - but maybe this is for the best. I don't even know whether I'll bother getting a Thanksgiving meal for myself like I've done in years past. After the week I've had, I will just welcome the break from work (even when I've just had a long break!).
