I was craving some British "candy" recently, so I ordered a couple of items from Amazon. But these were not typical items - these were sweets I've not had for a very long time, and something I've not even thought about having for a very long time. I got some mint humbugs and some rhubarb & custards. And both were utterly delicious. I don't why I haven't had these for so long - possibly because I haven't encountered them even when I've been back in the UK, I haven't sought them out, and might have even forgotten they existed. But I know now that I have to get some next time I'm back. And maybe some other old-fashioned sweets - think pear drops, butter mintoes, lemon sherbets, and probably a load more I can't think of right now.
