It's not that long until the Winter Olympics, and I've started seeing adverts for it on NBC and it's affiliates. The weird thing is that the ads feature an attractive British woman talking up some of the American athletes. That doesn't seem particularly patriotic. I had no idea who this woman was - I assumed some model, but I had to look it up. Apparently it is Dua Lipa. Someone whose name I recognize but who I don't know anything else about. Certainly not what she looked like. I thought she was a singer - but I couldn't tell you any of her songs or whether I've heard them. I really do sound like an old man. But yes, I'm not entirely sure why they couldn't find an American to be the face of Team USA.
