Zoom

It's kind of sad how reliant we are on modern technology.  And so it proved today as my entire company (one of what must have been thousands of other companies, and millions of people) was affected by a global outage in Zoom.  It meant that I, like everybody else, was totally unable to host or attend a Zoom meeting - our default meeting platform.  This is a disaster, particularly as a remote worker who doesn't do face-to-face meetings anymore.  Fortunately the outage didn't last long, but long enough to have to cancel a meeting.  And it was an unfortunate reminder that we are at the mercy and whim of these technology companies and their awful CEOs.
